Hi!

I'M JEN ALBRIGHT.

I am a calm and positive professional with high attention to detail. I am customer-focused and a collaborative team player adept at communicating with clients to ensure engaging experiences.

“Good design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisible,”― Donald A. Norman

Growth at Mattel

Upon graduating, I chose to grow with the company I worked at throughout college, with Mattel. I worked for Mattel for several years and wearing several hats.

That job gave me opportunities to move to Denver then to Seattle where I have put my roots down. I was lucky to have found a job that moved me to new locations, allowing me to meet new people and teams, and it exposed me to several new experiences.

Through that segment of life, I have gained several years of senior leadership experience in retail, operations, and restaurants. I developed great knowledge and experience in leadership which is helpful to have no matter the field I am working in.

Hobbies I Enjoy

When I am not behind my computer, I have hobbies and activities that keep me busy, productive, and happy.

One hobby includes a micro side business, Rusted Element Design. In that business I sell my handmade modern home goods and artwork made of wood and resin. This tiny business allows me to keep up with my artistic side.

I currently sell my handmade goods at a store in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Venue Ballard as well as various regional art shows. You can see examples of this work under “Other Works” in the navigation.

Travel, Outdoors, and More

Outside of pandemic times, I love to travel to see family in Chicago as well as to explore the world. I feel so lucky to have gotten married in Hawaii to an amazing person, my favorite.

I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors. Every summer through fall we find a few weekends to go camping and usually somewhere near water. I love being in or on the water whether it be swimming, kayaking, canoeing, or SUP boarding.

I love seeing live music. I enjoy going on hikes throughout the Pacific Northwest. I love growing our own food (despite my broken green thumb)... eating the home grown food is the best.

I am close to my family, in-laws, and have a great circle of friends.

Furbaby Momma

I am a furbaby momma and try to give this little one a fun-filled and adventurous life. Ehem, she is not spoiled. At. All.

Sequoia does, however, go everywhere with us that she is allowed. She loves her snuggles and belly rubs. In tandem with my wife, she helps me stay balanced, positive, and ready to tackle the world every day.

UX/UI Certification

Lastly, I recently received my UX/UI Certification from DesignLab in Summer of 2022. I was so fortunate to get accepted into the DesignLab program. It was an amazing platform to learn UX/UI design and I am looking forward to this pivot in my career and the new experiences it will allow me.

I love finding solutions to many different problems, making improvements, and creating new flows and processes.
